Why Less is More
I’ve seen a ton of articles, websites, and even books on “Why Less is More” when it comes to features in digital technology. Yet, every company I work with still demands to have checkmarks in a list of features. Something about Enterprise software just seems to kill this and most other thoughts on innovation. I guess this explains Outlook, Word, and most of enterprise software. “We’ll train them to press buttons”, instead of putting logic behind the buttons and saving the infinite training.
Anyway, this article (Why Features Don’t Matter Anymore: The New Laws of Digital Technology by Andreas Pfeiffer) stood out because it was posted to ACM Ubiquity which is one of the countless ACM online magazines.
